Homelab Backup: Privacy Policy

Last updated: 2026-10-14

"Homelab Backup" is a personal tool written and used only by its owner, to upload encrypted backup files from the owner's own home network to the owner's own Google Drive. It is not offered to, or used by, anyone else.

What the app accesses

The app uses Google's Drive API with the narrow drive.file permission. It can see and change only the files and folders that it creates itself. It cannot read any other file in the account.

What is stored

Backup data is compressed and encrypted on the owner's own equipment before it is uploaded, using a key that never leaves the owner's control. Google receives only the encrypted files.

What is collected, shared or sold

The app collects no personal data about any person. Nothing is shared with third parties, sold, used for advertising, or used to train any model. The only credentials the app holds are the owner's own Google authorization token, stored on the owner's own server.

Deleting data

The owner can delete the backup folder in Google Drive at any time and can revoke the app's access in the Google Account security settings.
